Understanding the Endocrine System
There is no better place to start than the endocrine system when it comes to balancing hormones. This system is primarily responsible for controlling and regulating hormones, and ensuring that the body functions with unity and balance.

What Are Hormones?
There are two main types of hormones. The first type is made from amino acids including peptides, amines, and proteins. The second type is made up of lipids such as steroids, which are created from cholesterol, testosterone, estrogen, and cortisol.
Functions of Hormones
Hormones send messages that are received by “receptors” all over the body. These receptors “translate” the message and set the motion of the body to respond and do its job. The endocrine system is a unified whole, working to regulate hormone levels and control how much of each hormone is circulating within the body at any given time. An imbalance of any hormone wreaks havoc on the body.
